This was a ball in more than just the name, there were big prizes, big music and a really big night at the 74 Support Battery (The Battle Axe Company) Royal Artillery Christmas Ball last night in Larkhill. As the Master of Ceremonies for the night, I was there to meet and greet the guests on their arrival, direct them to their reception drinks, and point out the photographer, for those all important Christmas snaps. Later on I helped to create the right atmosphere for the prize draw, and it was fantastic to see so many happy winners; after all who wouldn't want a Fortnum & Mason hamper, a red letter day in a Mclaren spider sports car or £500 in cash. The music came from different styles, with carol singers on arrival, surprise singing servers during the meal, and I had the pleasure of introducing a great band in the shape of Summer Sun from Hampshire. It was a pleasure to be their Master of Ceremonies, and I look forward to being their MC again in the future.
